Sometimes we can’t predict the future with great accuracy. Disruptions such as the global financial crisis of 2008 and 2009 or the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 to 2022 make a mockery of forecasts that we planned on.
Accordingly, we have to have contingency plans for an uncertain future. By developing a set of scenarios – plausible futures – we will be able to make plans which are robust.
We need to anticipate the future.
